Automation Applications Inc, LLC (AAI) Exton, PA - November 4, 1998: Automation Applications Inc, LLC (AAI), a provider of process control solutions and engineering services, announced it has received a contract from a major refiner in Louisiana for the development of Front End Loading (FEL) documents and support for the company's Safety Protection System (SPS) Team. The AAI contract spanning the (5) five-year project duration is estimated to exceed $5 million.

The Safety Protection System (SPS) project encompasses upgrading the control systems of approximately 113 fired furnaces. AAI will provide the engineering services necessary to prepare the FEL documents used to secure project funding. FEL documents include project justification, all associated costs and schedules, as well as the execution plans required for project management. Upon project funding, AAI will provide the detail design engineering necessary for the preparation of construction packages and project schedules. The company has chosen to follow ISA SP84 as the regulatory document defining the project scope, while utilizing API/RP-556 as a guideline for detail design.
