Project Profiles
Power Boiler
Optimization - Provided control system design,
configuration, and integration of Multi-Fueled Boiler Control
System. Project featured AAI's Dual Master multi-fueled boiler
optimization strategy to optimize boiler efficiency and enable
the boiler to burn waste fuel almost exclusively while
maintaining steady steam output.
Coordinated Header
Pressure Control System - Provided system design for
coordination of steam header system. System reduces PRV usage,
insures header stability and reduces overall steam demand.
Powerhouse Tie Line and
Load Shedding Controls - Completed turnkey design,
engineering, and implementation of DCS based control system
providing Load Shedding and Tie-Line Control. System implemented
as part of increase in co-generation capacity. Detailed reporting
package provided.
Powerhouse Energy
Management - Provided system design that included header
pressure coordination control, boiler load allocation, turbine
load allocation, tie line control and load shedding. Implemented
utilizing AAI Constraint Controls. Project also included dynamic
process simulation for advanced process control and operator
training.
Specialty Chemical Batch
- Designed and implemented process control and process management
improvements on a multiple product batch application. The process
improvements were done on a DCS platform. A Recipe Manager was
developed for the storage and retrieval of product processing
parameters. In addition, a Production Scheduler and Inventory
Manager was developed for the scheduling of product batches. This
resulted in an increase in production and product quality. Based
upon successful implementation and start-up, this system has been
implemented at 3 additional plants.
Process Engineering Services - Developed recipe
based batching system to produce white chocolate paste. This
Honeywell DCS based system is continually maintained and
supported by AAI. Also, AAI provided engineering services for
rail-shed cleanup automation and package candy labeling.
Flexible Batch - Debottlenecking project
involved the development of a flexible batching system for
aggregate crushing, sizing and packaging. This DCS based system
utilizes Honeywell TDC AM and APM.
Nylon Batching - Developed applications for
Nylon processing. Ongoing projects for Global Nylon Technology
Team. Provided Batch Automation Study in support of worldwide
standards development.
Chemical Process Modifications - Provided
control system engineering services for tank farm modifications,
tank farm expansion, reactor bottom feed project and process unit
vessel modifications.
Process Modification Projects - Provided control
system engineering services for process control system audit and
documentation, filter press project, baghouse project support,
and petroleum coke process modification project.
Process Projects - Provided engineering services
for hydrate transfer project, silo transfer, calciner projects,
flame safety systems for flash dryers and various control system
upgrades.
Refinery Safety Protection Systems Project -
Provided Front End Loading documentation, AFE funding
documentation as well as detailed design engineering to support
107 Fired Heater Control System Upgrades.
Process Modification Projects - Provided control
system engineering services for process control system audit and
documentation, filter press project, baghouse project support,
and petroleum coke process modification project.
NCG Incinerator - Designed and implemented
turnkey control system for new Non-Condensable Gas Incinerator
using combination of DCS and PLC control equipment. Effort
included design and development of Environmental Reporting
Package in addition to control, sequencing, and interlocking of
the process.
New Catalyst Plant - Turnkey responsibility for
control systems based around DCS architecture for Green Field
Catalyst Plant. In addition to control systems design,
implementation, and start-up, project involved significant
Project Management and effort to coordinate multiple vendors and
service suppliers.
Oil Movement and Storage - Implemented a
customized Honeywell BRC and SDM system. Configured and
implemented CLM interface to existing tank gauging system.
Provided operator training and startup support. Designed Pipeline
Transfer Reporting Software, custom reports, and data transfer to
Data Historian.
Refinery Modernization - Created advanced
control strategies for improved yield, product quality, and
constraint monitoring. Developed and implemented AM CL programs.
Customized Honeywell SDM and BRC Systems, implemented and
provided support.
Refinery Tank Gauging - Designed and implemented Storage
Data Management (SDM) tank gauging on cGMP software environment.
Provided project management, operator training and startup
support.
